Fix your registry and make your PC FAST!

The registry is where your computer will tell the story of hours of abuse.  This is the heart of your computer operating system.  Well it could almost be called the brain.  Each program that gets installed on your computer gets entered into the registry.  Over time the registry will start having errors.  Usually caused by installing and uninstalling programs.  If your like me, you are always installing something that might offer you a better way to accomplish something an out dated program is already doing.

I am a really big fan of free apps.  Some of the best programmers I have come across have thrown out some free apps for download to the masses.   With all this in mind, I came across a great little registry cleaner app.  I first came across it on Cnet’s website here.

Cnet gave it 4 and a half stars.  This was worth a try for me.  The install was fast and simple. Right after I installed the program, I ran it.  The user interface is very simple to use.  One of the best things about this program was the fact that it automatically backs up your registry.  The scan button goes right in and finds the errors in your registry.  You simply click the fix button, and it does what it is supposed to do.  If you don’t like the results, (you will) then you can simply launch the app and run the restore option. 

Now one of the things I didn’t like was how simple the interface looked.  That’s the designer in my speaking.  I would prefer something with a little more of a Vista updated look.  But hey, this screams to me that a programmer put this together.  It just works, no real bells and whistles.  In the end, thats what it all comes down to.

I have now ran this on 2 different PC’s both running Vista, and so far no problems.  my laptop did see a nice boost in the startup time.  The quad-core 8 gig ram desktop was already ridiculously fast. This is a must have app for any PC user
