ie and firefox dont connect to the internet

Recently I came across a computer that could not connect to the internet. Firefox and IE weren’t able to connect and gave a warning about Proxy something. I am pretty sure this is some kind of malicious malware that caused these web browsers to stop working. It will look as if your computer can’t connect to the internet. This was the most annoying thing. Somehow this little script went in and changed some settings. It is a pretty simple fix though. If you launch Firefox and get some sort of warning about proxy settings or can’t connect. First thing to do is then launch IE, and if there is the same connect problem to the internet than that’s the problem.
The malware changes your settings trying to tell your web browsers to go out through a proxy server. We don’t want that. If you did want that setting, then you would have set it manually and wouldn’t be reading this. The fix is to go into your settings and change it back to auto detecting your service provider. I’ve added the fix’s below. Simple follow the file menu clicks depending on your browser below.
In Internet Explorer, click “Tools” in the filemenu -> Click Options->Connection tab->Lan Settings->if anything checked, uncheck all and restart the browser. Some people might have to restart the computer.
Firefox fix, Click the “Tools” in the filemenu -> Click options -> on options box, choose advanced icon. on the advanced screen choose network tab -> Then click settings. Choose the option that says no proxy. Save your settings and restart the browser, some people might have to restart the computer.
My next word of advice would be to buy a mac
I haven’t had an issue like this from my Mac. Just my windows pc has suffered.
