If you have a website, then you need to use twitter as part of your promotions….

Twitter can give live updates about all the going-on’s and new projects your company might be doing. For many new web surfers not having a twitter badge up on your site could mean your website is a little behind the times. Something as simple as a twitter badge can make your website personable. Visitors can click this and see what is happening instantly. They may even choose to follow your company. This will then show your tweets on their twitter page. The next thing you know more people are seeing your tweets then your actual website. Now if you have links back from your post. This may bring fresh eyes to your site.

How to use twitter effectively. Be sure at the bottom of your tweets that you have a link back to your website to read the full article. Example: you are offering a new service, so your services page gets updated with the new service. Now tweet about this new service you offer and why someone might link it. Then place a read more link back to your website. This is an easy way to list updated content, and get your readers up to speed on whats new.

Twitter is now a must ad part of web design. In terms of social marketing, this is really where to start. If you are new to social marketing, its time to make a twitter account. Choose a few people to follow and watch what happens. Start posting a few updates so readers have the chance to visit your website. I’m pretty sure this will get your feet wet with twitter.
